UV Ray Lamp beauty Ad, 1947

Thanks to Memsaab Greta who generously shared her collection of Filmindia magazines ranging from year 1939 to 1953 (actually she got them from her friend Shalini, so a big thanks to her too), I will be uploading ads back from those years.

At first I thought of uploading ads in a chronological order but then this beauty of an ad (beauty ad?) was just too good to care about any sort of order.

    Wow! They had suntan lamps available in India and that too in the 40's and 50's...I am shocked!
    I wonder how many people used them and if this trend was so popular then it must have been with select few because majority of Indian population never wants to be darker than they already are :)

Indian Cigarette Vintage Ads

Target Magazine 1988 Annual Issue

Cover of Target Magazine 1988 Annual Issue (June) It's a copy that a cousin brother of mine owns. Years ago, I discovered this wonderful magazine only thanks to him. I was too young, about seven, when I first laid my hand on it. I never owned a single copy, my cousin used to do the buying. By the time I decided it was time for me to buy my first copy, the publishers had called quit on the magazine. Yes I did buy a copy of Teens Today. But never again.
