Lord Jim by Joseph Conrad, Illustrated pocket classic

Lord Jim by Joseph Conrad, Illustrated pocket classic

Found this buried in a corner of my old bookshelf.

Published in India but the art is definitely not Indian (except maybe the cover).

Sharing this wonderful comment that I got via email from my uncle:
Lord Jim was considered to be one of the classics & is said be based on certain facts.
It was turned into a panoramic movie starring Peter O' Toole, the great theatrical actor of those days. I was lucky enough to see
it in 1970 at Empire theatre (in Calcutta) which was said to be only theatre in India with 0 projection screen .
A small part of it was lifted to movie 'Kala Pather' and A.bachan tried to b Peter O'Toole
(a poor imitation). Those days he was a novice.
