Dear vinayak ji
ReplyDeleteHow much you labour to retrieve these old references , i wonder . These things have memory tags for us. My father took me out from my school during lunch break and we went to Maqdoom sahib shrine. There is a spot known as Kastoor pend . This movie was shot there . Shashi kapoor ate Nadir Monji (Pakoras made of Lotus stem ). When we walked back to rainawari we talked about Peshawar and frontier areas of what is now Pakistan. My father revealed that Shashi kapoor is actually from Peshawar, a city my father had visited before 1947 with my uncle or grand father . Peshawar and frontier areas of were brought to my memory storage on that day only.Any way good work and ponted reference .
Autar ji,
ReplyDeletei try whatever little i can. And i know nothing out be enough. I only repeat what I have heard from people of your generation.
Even my family has stories of grand-uncle who was working at Gilgit right till around 1948. Thanks for sharing your memories about the film. (I feel like having Nadir Monji rightnow)
That poster seems to belong to some space within my memory; my vision of Kashmir. Thanks for sharing it.
