Colour TV, 1989

Moved into this room, looked around, and in a corner found this old color TV. BPL. Solid IC. 12 Channel. Modified to 200 channel.

Year 1989. This was the first colour TV that I ever saw. It was the pride procession of an Uncle. Every Sunday, I will go over to my cousin's place to watch Ramayan followed by He-Man; all in color on a Tv of this very model. Ah, the Sunday's spent screaming 'I have the power' while holding a stick.

    Where did you find this? it belongs in a museum:) and quite honestly I too was obsessed with he man and that wild cat he had, was that the cat's name?

    The Tv came with a room that i had rented in Gurgaon sometime ago.
    'Battle Cat', in a more Cringer form known as 'Cringer'.

    we had one of mitsubishi make imported in 1986 from kuwait with the looks similar to this one (buttons on right side of screen).i remember watching mowgli,chitrahaar,dekh bhai dekh,re-runs of humlog,chanakya.......ahhhh good ol' days.

Kishore Kumar, Yodel-ay-ee-oooo Songs, A List

*Updated with corrections pointed out by Bart Plantenga , author of some incredible book on Yodeling including Yodel-Ay-Ee-Oooo: The Secret History of Yodeling Around the World. -0- Kishore Kumar 's brother Anoop Kumar, who we basically know for the line ' O manu tera toh hua ab mera kya hoga ', used to own lots of Austrian music records. And from these records, Kishore Kumar picked up the art of Yodel singing, an art perfected in bathroom and then introduced by him to the world of Hindi film music. According to his biography 'Kishore Kumar: method in madness‎ ' by Derek Bose, "Kishore was a fan of the Swiss singer Tex Norton [* Tex Morton, an Australian cowboy born in New Zealand who sang  in the gene autry / Jimmie Rodgers style ] and the Australian Jimmy Rogers [* Jimmie Rodgers , perhaps the most American and one of the most famous yodelers in the world, famous for his blue yodels ] as well."
